2 Charged In Deadly Pittsburgh Home Depot Parking Lot Shooting

Two men are accused in the targeted fatal shooting of a man in a Pittsburgh-area Home Depot-Giant Eagle parking lot.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Two men allegedly involved in separate crime sprees this week now face charges in connection with the deadly shooting of a man in the Ohio Township Home Depot-Giant Eagle parking lot earlier this month.

Emmanuel Houghton, 19, of Carnegie, and Tyler Stewart, 22, of McKeesport, are accused of killing Jordan Geiger, 18, a recent Freedom Area High School graduate. Police found Geiger in a crashed car near the intersection of Gass and Ben Avon Heights roads in Ohio Township on Aug. 2.

Geiger was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Medical staff discovered he had been shot once in the torso.

According to court documents, Houghton and Stewart both face charges that include criminal homicide, conspiracy and various weapons violations.

Allegheny County police, who investigated the crime, previously stated that Geiger was targeted in the shooting.

Houghton was arrested in Monongahela Wednesday night after a standoff with police that last for hours. Houghton and police exchanged gunfire in the incident, which originated with the pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

Stewart also was arrested Wednesday night following a police chase and attempted carjacking in Pittsburgh's Banksville section.

Houghton and Stewart both are being housed in the county jail pending arraignment on the charges related to Geiger's death.
