Man Shot, Killed On Busy Pittsburgh Street

Police are investigating the shooting death of a man Sunday in a Pittsburgh neighborhood.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man Sunday in the city's Uptown section near UPMC Mercy hospital.

Around 11:15 a.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter alert for three shots fired near Fifth Avenue and Vine Street.

Officers located a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. Medics transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man's name and age were not immediately available.

A man stayed at the scene and was taken in for questioning, but police said said there are no outstanding suspects in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
