PITTSBURGH, PA — Thirty years after Sarah Boehm was murdered, the Pittsburgh FBI office is attempting to rekindle interest in her case as it continues to attempt to solve the mystery behind her violent death.

On July 14, 2004, she left her home in Rochester, Beaver County, supposedly to visit a friend. Months later, her remains were found in the Berlin Reservoir in an Ohio state park in Portage County, Ohio, about 90 minutes from Rochester.

A month after Sarah vanished, another teen went missing. The nude body of Kathryn Menendez, 17, of Portage County, was found several days later on an oil road near the reservoir; she had been strangled to death.

Sarah and Kathryn's bodies were located about a half-mile from each other.

The FBI said this week that information continues to be sought in both cases - specifically, how Boehm ended up murdered in Ohio and the circumstances that led to Menendez's death. Investigators believe the two cases may be related.
