Berwyn Heart Transplant Recipient To Get Make-A-Wish Car

A young man from Berwyn will have his wish come true when his grandmother's restored Mustang is revealed at the AmericanMuscle Mustang Show.

BERWYN, PA — A younf man in Berwyn who rceiebed a heart transplant and became part of the Make-A-Wish foundation will have his wish come true at a muscle car event this weekend.

AmericanMuscle announced today it will unveil a completely restored 1983 convertible Mustang to Matthew, 18, of Berwyn.

At the 11th annual AmericanMuscle Mustang Show on June 15 at the Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, Pennsylvania, Matthew will have his wish revealed.

He recently had a heart transplant which qualified him to receive a wish from Make-A-Wish.

His wish was to have his grandmother’s 1983 Mustang restored to have his own car to drive himself to doctor’s appointments and college classes starting in the fall.

Matthew’s wish will be revealed during the event when he sees his grandmother’s bright red Mustang convertible for the very first time since it’s been completely overhauled into a highly customized and truly one-of-a-kind ride.

The event will also feature more than 3,000 Mustangs of all years and submodels with drag races, burnout, dyno and revving competitions, jet cars, raffles, a Make-A-Wish parade and surprise special guests.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley.

"We’re so excited to once again host this exciting event for all Mustang enthusiasts, especially Matthew," said Steve Voudouris, CEO and Co-Founder at AmericanMuscle. "We’re proud of the hundreds of thousands of dollars we’ve raised for Make-A-Wish over the years and the amazing moments we’ve provided these kids through our overhauled cars. This year is our biggest rebuild to date. I can’t wait to see the look on Matthew’s face. It will surely be the highlight of a fun, meaningful, and action-packed day."

The event runs from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Gates open at 9 a.m.

The event is free to attend, with $10 spectator parking and a number of special events like club parking and track side suites, with proceeds being donated to Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley.

It costs $35 to register a car for the show. The rain date is Saturday, June 22.
