WAYNE-MALVERN-BERWYN —Health inspectors visited numerous establishments in the zip codes for Malvern, Wayne and Berwyn in November.

Inspectors found some establishments to be in violation of health codes set by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

  • Target Store, 704 West Lancaster Ave: one violation on Nov. 20 for a moldy loaf of bread
  • Starbucks, Valley Forge Plaza, 1495 Valley Forge Road: two violations on Nov. 15 for some equipment not in good condition and a paper towel dispenser was empty.
  • Hakata, 125 E. Swedesford Road: 14 violations on Nov. 13 for wearing one glove, milk left in the ice machine, wiping clothes not sanitized, containers used as steam tables, no sanitizer strips, debris on non-food areas, soap not available in hand wash sink, paper towel dispenser empty, rodents, and no public sign of a certified food manager.

  • Ebo’s Fresh Food LLC, 436 W. Swedesford Road: 5 violations on Nov. 17 for using raw wood for support, old cutting boards not discarded, protein stored in freezer is open, egg carton not stored at proper temperature, and non-food surfaces not cleaned.
  • Motto Japanese Restaurant, 668 Lancaster Ave.: 13 violations on Nov. 9 for two open cans in refrigerator, slow drains not repaired, chlorine chemical sanitizer detected in rinse cycle of dishwasher, hand wash sink used for food preparation, food ingredients not labeled properly, and mops not hung out to dry,

  • Tiffin Indian Cuisine: 5 S. Morehall Road: two violations on Nov. 27 for food utensils stored in water not maintained and tomato sauce tomato sauce not properly cooled.
  • Tropical Smoothie, 5 S. Morehall Road: three violations on Nov. 27 for mango and strawberries past due date, test strips outdated, and the ice machine not clean.
  • True Blue Bakery, 490 Lancaster Ave.: two violations on Nov. 22 for the back door not protecting against entry of insects and rodents, and dust buildup in the bathroom.
  • Godavari Exon Boys LLC, 630 Lancaster Ave., two violations on Nov. 11 for the prep closet for spice not working, and a large amount of unused equipment.
  • El Rinconcito II, 490 Lancaster Ave., four violations on Nov. 16 for food items uncovered, sauces without labels, and an aluminum bowl used as a utensil.
  • Radnor Hunt, 826 Province Road, four violations on Nov. 16 for unpasteurized juice, a salad container chipped, and a hole in the basement door.
  • Nudy’s Cafe at Grove, 30 Liberty Blvd, 11 violations on Nov. 19 for dry food not labeled, containers not covered, ready-to-eat food stored longer than 24 hours, cutting board in disrepair, brooms on the floor, employees changing tasks without changing gloves, food not at the proper temperatures, plastic bags used for food storage, unused only fryer near kitchen area, spatula used for several jobs, name of chemical used for pest control.
