Conestoga - Five Boats Make it to the Finals at Stotesbury

Girls Varsity 4x and Inclusion 2x both take the Gold

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Conestoga Crew Club's Girls Senior Quad continued to dominate this weekend by bringing home the gold medal and The Bride’s Plate at the 96th Stotesbury Cup Regatta. Conestoga had 10 entries and 29 athletes competing this year. Nine of Conestoga’s boats made it to the semi-finals where they also captured the gold and the Isabel Bohn Trophy in the Inclusion Double.

The Stotesbury Cup is the world’s oldest and largest high school rowing event, with over 5,000 athletes from over 400 clubs competing in a two day regatta on the Schuylkill River.

The Conestoga Crew Club is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and on Sunday, the team gathered at the Bachelors Barge Club to christen its newest boat named Furtaw & Kennedy, after two former Conestoga Crew families. Rachel Furtaw currently rows at UC Berkeley and Blair Kennedy currently rows at the University of Delaware.

Conestoga Crew is coached by Head Coach Goldia Kiteck and Assistant Coaches Allie Nussbaum, Garren Best, and Pat Martin.

Conestoga Crew Club Summer Learn to Row program starts July 24. TE students entering 8th to 11th will learn the basics of rowing during 3 weeks on the Schuylkill River at Bachelors Barge Club. For more information go here or contact the crew team at [email protected].
