Devon's Black Cat Café​ Is Purrrfect Place For Ice Cream

DEVON, PA — The Black Cat Café is known for its tasty food menu and its unique nonprofit model blending food service and pet recuse, but did you know there is also ice cream in the mix?

Devon's Black Cat Café has opened its seasonal ice cream parlor, serving delicious cold treats. One menu item is the Lady and the Tramp sundae that's chocolate cake, peanut butter ice cream, giant peanut butter cups, whipped cream, hot fudge, and a cherry on top. There are also waffle sundaes and a vegan sundae called the Grumpy Cat. The waffle sundae can be ordered as vegan or gluten-free.

The Black Cat Café ice cream parlor is serving from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.

The Black Cat Café is a nonprofit owned and operated by P.A.L.S., a 501c3 pet rescue, for the sole purpose of saving homeless pets by serving first-class handcrafted and homemade food in a cozy and delightful atmosphere.

About 80 percent of each check goes directly to animal rescue, the nonprofit said. The popular salad-sandwich-soup spot serves lunches, breakfast, and desserts as well as grab-and-go meals. There's coffee and free wifi, also. One of its special offerings is "Work Day Lunch Boxes" ready on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The Black Cat Café is at 42 Berkley Road, in Devon. The café is closed on July 4, one of its social media pages said.
