Health Inspections In Wayne Eateries In January

Chester County health inspectors found a few violations in restaurants in Wayne in January.

WAYNE, PA — Health inspectors paid visits to six establishments in Wayne during the first three weeks of January.

Inspectors found some establishments in violation of health codes set by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

  • Black Powder Tavern: 1164 Valley Forge Road, no violations
  • Gateway Saladworks: eight violations: frozen food not maintained in the freezer, no sanitizer strips, walk-in freezer compression down, mechanical dish machine not cleaned, noncontact surfaces not cleaned, and plumbing system not maintained.
  • Courtyard Cafe At Marriott, 762 West Lancaster Ave.: one violation: a dairy item had an expired date, and was corrected on-site.
  • Nudy's Cafe, 292 East Conestoga Road: two violations: no certified food employee, need to secure the grinding pump.
  • Takumi Japanese Bistro, 821 Lancaster Ave,: eight violations: food employees using single gloves, food employees touching cooked crab sushi with bare hands, food utensils for rice and ice cream in water not maintained at a proper temperature, wet wiping cloths in the food prep area, sponges used to clean food, walk-in cooler door not closing, and several shelves not durable.
  • 7-Eleven, 1495 Valley Forge Road, two violations: non-food contact surfaces not clean, plumbing system not in good repair.
