The Rain Tax is here

Posted Fri, May 17, 2019

Well, Friends,

It didn’t take long for the next government outrage to crawl out from under a rock. A rain water tax. Let’s fight this before it’s too late. This is getting minimal media. Ideally, we need to fund a lawsuit, but they need $$$$ to take the case. They won it in Maryland.

The federal government has implemented a variety of rules for water that drains off of your property. Locally, this had led to stormwater fees, commonly called the Rain Tax. All people reading this MAY not be affected now, but sooner or later you WILL be. Basically, you will pay a fee without getting any benefit from it. Some of these may be high, and there were various people who claimed the data used to determine the fee was not accurate.

If this is allowed, all people here will end up paying sooner or later, and this will only increase in cost. It also will say the people do not care, then expect more fees and taxes.

Frank Andrews on WILK had a slew of guests on and the one guest explained he feels this is an unfunded federal mandate, which is not allowed. He said the law requires them to pay for rules like this. Also, where does the Constitution provide authority for this?

The below website is a good source of info on this topic, plus it says what you can do. Ultimately, this is a federal issue, so the President, your Congressman, and two US Senators could help. Closer to home, there is a lawsuit to stop this, a group was formed, a fund setup for the lawsuit, Facebook page, etc. All of this is on the site below.

Think is this as another form of property tax you will pay. The problem is that you will end up paying maybe 5 times. Your property fee, school taxes may rise, municipal tax may rise, county tax may rise, stores charging more money, etc. Nobody is exempt so churches, fire halls, etc. must still pay.

There is no time like the present. Pull up the site. Thanks.
