Learn About Ancient Beers While Tasting Beers At Easttown Library

You can learn about the beers of yore while tasting brews from La Cabra and Dogfish Head next month at the library.

BERWYN, PA — Curious about what beers were like in ancient times? If so, you'll want to get tickets for an upcoming event at the Easttown Library that will focus on ancient beers and feature beer tastings.

The library is hosting s discussion titled "Ancient Brews: Rediscovered and Re-created" at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18.

In addition to the discussion, there will be beer tastings from Berwyn's La Cabra and Dogfish Head.

Dr. Patrick McGovern, the "Indiana Jones of Ancient Ales, Wines and Extreme Beverages," will educate attendees on the dawn of brewing.

He will also recount his collaboration with Dogfish Head Brewery to re-create Ancient Ales and Spirits.

Attendees can taste Dogfish Head's Midas Touch, the best-selling honey-based fermented beverage in the U.S.

The discussion will be followed by a tasting with La Cabra.

McGovern's books will be available for purchase and signing.
