Lecturer On Main Line's Old Gas Stations Coming To Devon

The Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust​ is hosting a lecture on the gas and service stations of yore that dotted the Main Line.

DEVON, PA — As part of the Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust's Spring 2019 lecture series, a local historian will talk about the old gas stations of the Main Line.

At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, the trust will host historian and lecturer Bart Van Valkenburgh who will trace the history of the Main Line's old gas stations.

Tickets cost $15 per person and include refreshments, which begin at 7 p.m.

The lecture will be held in the Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens, located at 631 Berwyn-Baptist Road in Devon.

Attendees will learn about roughly 100 years of local, family-owned gas stations from Strafford to Malvern.

The presentation will include interviews from family members who owned gas stations, photos from the 1920s to present, and more.
