Viola's life story is told with humor and a vivid narrative via bite sized vignettes in the book.

Set on the Main Line, Viola recounts how she upheld her private school image and maintained good grades while leading a double life riddled with drug abuse, hitting rock bottom, stints in rehab, and, ultimately, to decades of continuous sobriety.

“Her bravery will sow seeds of hope for fellow addicts and those who love them, alongside reassurance of a way forward and a life without substances, fear, or judgment.”– Booklife by Publishers Weekly

“The now mother of two has spent more than half of her life sober. Besides helping others who may be related to someone struggling with addiction or actively experiencing it themselves, the memoir also serves as a reminder of how far she’s come.” – The Temple News

Pretty Wrecked is an autobiography in which Viola follows her own path to sobriety at a young age. Viola, who has been sober since the age of 19, was inspired to write this novel, in order to showcase that it is okay to speak about addiction, and to share both the best and worst parts of individuals’ lives.” – The Villanovan

“With her girl-next-door face and bouncy personality, it’s hard to picture Wayne mom Tracy Viola as the duplicitous, defiant, drug-addicted teen in her new memoir, Pretty Wrecked. But maybe that’s the point of this tell-all: looks (and smarts) can be deceptive. Heck, they help you deceive. You can be pretty – and pretty wrecked for years – but you can only fool yourself for so long.” – Savvy Main Line

“I don’t know Tracy Viola. But I respect her madly, and she is one of those people who are like human heroes for surviving. Many others are not so lucky… Tracy Viola is one of these people who matter. We are lucky she is paying it forward and telling her story. To her I say a simple thank you. She is a hero.” – Chester County Ramblings

“In this compelling account, Viola offers an unflinching look into her descent into teenage drug addiction and alcohol abuse, and the subsequent twenty-seven-year journey towards sobriety.” – My Chesco
