Paoli Hospital Earns Grade A For Patient Safety

Four Main Line Health Network hospitals earned grade A for patient safety.

PAOLI, PA —Paoli Hospital earned a grade of A for patient healthcare safety in a report issued Wednesday by the Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit healthcare watchdog group.

Paoli Hospital, founded in 1923, is part of the Main Line Health Network. It’s located in Tredyffrin and Willistown townships.

Three other Main Line Health hospitals — Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr, and Riddle also received a Hospital Safety Grade of A from The Leapfrog Group for the spring of 2023.

The new grades primarily reflect performance during the height of the pandemic, hospital officials said.

This national distinction celebrates Main Line Health’s achievements in prioritizing patient safety by protecting patients from preventable harm and errors, Jack Lynch, CEO and president, of Main Line Health.

“We are honored to be recognized across all four of our acute care hospitals with this top grade of A,” Lynch said Wednesday.

“Their commitment to the safety of our patients, their families and all those who choose Main Line Health is reflected in this achievement and helps us to deliver on our promise of human care."

Paoli Hospital has 231 beds and is a Level II trauma center.

Paoli Hospital is known for orthopedics, pulmonary and lung surgery, urology, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, back surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, hip fracture, kidney failure, and knee replacement.
