Paoli Woman Who Worked as Secretary During World War II Dies at 90

Local woman Elizabeth Bradley spent many years working at St. Norbert's after her service during World War II.

Elizabeth N. Bradley of Paoli, PA Elizabeth N. Bradley (nee Newcombe), 90, of Paoli, PA and formerly of Berywn, PA passed away on July 11, 2016.

Born in Windsor, England in 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Mabel (Moore) Newcombe. Betty worked during World War II as a Secretary at Paines & Byrne, LTD in Perivale, England, and came to the USA in 1953.

She worked for the Bryn Mawr Trust Company as a secretary in the mortgage division. Betty was an active member of St. Norbert’s parish for many years, serving as a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister and also worked in the parish office.

She was the beloved wife of the late Forrest C. Bradley; loving mother of Brenda Turner (David), Claire Hogan (Jim); and grandmother of Tim, Laura, Jimmy and Matt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Main Line Health Hospice, 240 N. Radnor Chester Road, Suite 100, Radnor, PA 19087.
