Paoli's Paul Wilkins, Former Malvern Fire Co. Chief, Loses Cancer Fight

A benefit will help offset medical costs for Wilkins' family on Thursday in Paoli.

Paul Wilkins, a lifetime member, former chief, and president of the Malvern Fire Company, lost his fight with cancer on March 14 at 53 years old.

"It is with deep regret and profound sadness that the Willistown Police Department has learned of the passing of former Malvern Fire Company Chief, Paul Wilkins," the police department said on Facebook.

Wilkins, 53, of Paoli, had been battling a colon cancer diagnosis, and the fire company rallied around the leader to help he and his family.

"Chief Wilkins was a great man, a great father, a great husband, a great friend to our department and a mentor to many emergency responders in the Malvern area," the police department said. "His loss is felt among our local first responder family. Rest easy, Chief."

Visitation hours will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, March 17 at Saint Joseph Church, 332 Manor Ave.,
Downingtown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Saint Joseph Church. Burial will take place at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, Pennsylvania.
