'The Perfect Dog' Coming To Berwyn Ahead Of National Dog Show

BERWYN, PA — With the National Dog Show growing closer, what better way to get into the dog-focused mindset than attending a Main Line theatrical production all about dogs that features local actors?

The Footlighters Theater in Berwyn will host a production of "The Perfect Dog" kids' musical in November.

"The Perfect Dog" is a musical inspired by John O’Hurley’s book. O'Hurley, known for playing J. Peterman on "Seinfeld," serves as one of the National Dog Show hosts.

"The Perfect Dog" is about Sam, a 12-year old perfectionist, searching for a flawless dog to enter the town's dog contest. Unable to find a canine that measures up, Sam must resort to training the family dog, Max, who is less than eager to obey commands. In the end, Sam and Max learn that there is no such thing as perfect, but there is such a thing as being perfect for each other.

• Sunday, Nov. 17, 2 p.m.
• Friday, Nov. 22, 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Nov. 23, 7:30 p.m.
• Sunday, Nov. 24, 2 p.m.

O'Hurley has become a fixture in American TV homes as host of The National Dog Show Presented by Purina, which is taped at the Expo Center in Oaks for broadcast nationally on NBC Thanksgiving Day.
