Proposed TESD Budget With Tax Hike To Be Discussed March 11

TREDYFFRIN-EASTTOWN, PA — The 2024-25 Tredyffrin/Easttown School District budget is moving ahead and will have another discussion next month.

The next budget discussion is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, March 11 at Conestoga High School, 200 Irish Road in Berwyn.

On Jan. 22, the Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board voted unanimously to adopt a preliminary budget of $186 million for the 2024-2025 school year.

This budget shows an $11.5 million operational deficit.

To close the gap, the board is seeking to increase the property tax rate, in addition to reducing expenditures and tapping into reserves.

At its Jan. 22 meeting, the board voted to ask permission from the state to go above the limit of a 3.5 percent tax increase.

However, the board will not vote on a property tax rate for the 2024-25 year until its June 10 meeting.

All voting budget meetings will be held at 7 p.m. in the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District Administration Offices at 940 West Valley Road, Suite 1700, Wayne, unless otherwise indicated. Meeting locations are subject to change.
