See How Tredyffrin, Easttown Businesses Are Handling Coronavirus

The crisis surrounding the new coronavirus continues to grow. So how are businesses in Tredyffrin and Easttown coping?

TREDYFFRIN-EASTTOWN, PA — Gyms, restaurants, coffee shops, and other retailers in Tredyffrin and Easttown have shut their doors or shifted business models as state officials have announced strict actions to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf on Sunday ordered all restaurants and bars in Allegheny, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties to close their dine-in facilities as of Monday.

Additionally, all non-essential retail businesses in Chester County have been told to close. This includes gyms, theaters, malls, salons, entertainment venues, and community centers. State liquor stores will close for two weeks starting Tuesday.

Essential retail, like pharmacies, grocery stores, gas stations, and healthcare facilities, can remain open.

In Tredyffrin and Easttown, businesses are reacting to the order and to the local outbreak of the illness.

In Devon, the Devon Yard facility that houses Anthropologie, Terrain Gardens and Terrain Café, and Amis is closed.

All four entities in the Devon Yard will be closed until March 28.

Parent company URBN said all of its stores globally will close until at least March 28.

"We will continue to pay our store teams during this time," the company said in an announcement. "Because the situation is complex and evolving rapidly, our plans may change. If they do, we’ll let you know."

Day Spa by Zsuzsanna in Wayne is closing until March 30.

Clients who have appointments scheduled through March 30 will be contacted to coordinate new appointment dates.

While the physical location is closed, the spa is still taking online orders. Gift certificates are also available online while the spa is closed.

The Black Poweder Tavern in Wayne said it is offering take out food only.

"We did not make the decision lightly, however, the health and welfare of our customers and their families as well as our employees are our number one priority," the tavern said on social media.

Diners can order take out to pick up curbside and can order from a new family-style catering menu.

"As this is an evolving situation, please check our social media feed and our website for further updates," the restaurant said. "In addition, please feel free to contract the restaurant directly at (610) 293-9333 with any questions."

Berwyn's Crossfit Village is closed for two weeks.

The gym will be closed until March 28 to help stop the virus's spread.

"We hope that this is temporary and it will be reopened sooner but we will adhere to the government's guidelines during these unique and serious times," the gym said online. "This was a very difficult decision that we have not taken lightly and we wish we weren't in this situation."

While thy gym is closed, it is offering at-home working programming through the Wodify app.

Crews will be doing a deep cleaning of the gym during the closure.
