Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

  • Karen Nudy Pecora, mother: " Dom calls me his mom manager because I have been on this crazy journey with him. In 2020, Dom age 10 asked me to buy him a $3,000 bike. I was shocked they even had bikes that cost that much money so I told him I would help him earn the money. After brainstorming we threw up a Facebook page and we called it Dom Fixes Bikes. Dom started fixing people's bikes and giving the bikes a seven-point tune-up at age 10. Once the pandemic hit the bike shops all closed and Dom became the famous "Bike Shop Kid." He earned enough money to quickly buy his bike. When the bike shops closed during the pandemic, he fixed bikes. He eventually opened his little bike shop in Paoli. Dom maintains good grades and also joined the Conestoga Rugby team."
  • Kate Madden said: "He's done amazing work over the last three years and is such an inspiration to the community. He is passionate about bikes and helping people around him. One of his goals as a new nonprofit leader was to donate 27 new bikes to anyone who needed them for Christmas; it was incredibly challenging and at times felt impossible to do, but he stuck with it and made it happen." Madden said Dominic donated 46 bikes, nearly 1/2 way to his target of 100 bikes in his 1st year as a nonprofit founder. He's also working hard to bring a bike park to skills bike tract to Tredyffin."
  • Pearl Nudy, grandmother: "Dom just turned 14. He is the president of his charitable corporation. He builds bikes from new and used parts and gives them away for free to children who want to ride but don’t have a bike. He presented a proposal to the Tredyffrin Township supervisors asking for a bike park in the township so that all kids could ride. Dom is a very loving, caring teenager who enjoys riding his bike whenever he has the time. He wants to spread the joy of riding to other children, teenagers, and their parents."

One thing you want everyone to know about Dom:

  • Pearl Nudy: "The one thing I would want everyone to know about Dominick is that he has a huge heart. He spends a lot of time working on the bikes that he wants to give away to kids just like him. He is hard-working and dedicated to making it easier for all kids who want to ride to have a bike."
  • Kate Madden: "He's a great kid with a huge heart. Every day he is out there trying to make the world a better place. His drive and motivation and resilience are incredible."
  • Karen Nudy Pecora: "Dom is an inspiration to people of all ages because he never stops believing in the good of the community"

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Dom!
