The district filed for, and was approved for, a property tax rate increase for special education expenditures incurred that have exceeded the inflationary Act 1 index of 3.5 percent.

The board and administration are working to close the $9.6 million budgeted operational deficit through a combination of a property tax rate increase, expenditure reductions and the use of existing reserves.
