Tredyffrin Capt. Tyler Moyer Graduates From FBI National Academy

Capt. Moyer was one of 199 law enforcement professionals who graduated from a recent session at the FBI's National Academy in Virginia.

TREDYFFRIN, PA —Tredyffrin Police Capt. Tyler Moyer accomplished something few local police officers have done, when he graduated on Thursday from a 10-week session of the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Vir.

The Tredyffrin police department Friday congratulated Moyer, who was recently promoted from lieutenant. According to the FBI, less than one percent of the country's law enforcement officers, complete the program.

The department said in a statement said they were proud of Moyer for his achievement and also thanked him for his hard work and dedication to the 42-member police department.

Moyer, a 20-year law enforcement officer, was one of 199 law enforcement officers who completed the course, which included instruction in law, behavior science, forensic science, understanding terrorism, leadership development, communication, health, and fitness.

The goal of the academy is to improve the administration of justice in police departments and raise law enforcement's knowledge and standards.

More than 54,000 officers graduated from the program, which began in 1935. The officers who attend the program are selected based on their service records.

Moyer is a 1997 graduate of LaSalle University and a 2003 graduate of the Montgomery County Police Academy. He is also a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff & Command, an intensive leadership and management education program.

He is also a member of the Chester County Serious Crash Assistance Team, a certified Federal Motor Carrier Enforcer, and a former member of the Chester County Regional Emergency Response Team (SWAT).
