Welcome to the Wonderful World of Alice in Wonderland

Free Community Theatre Show & Dinner

On Sunday, March 5th, Saint Luke Lutheran Church of Devon, PA is opening its doors and inviting all for an evening of free community theatre. The youth actors of MacGuffin Theatre & Film Company will be performing Alice in Wonderland. This free community theatre event is open to all and promises to be a fun and entertaining evening for the whole family.

Alice in Wonderland is a classic story of adventure, comedy, and curiosity. Based on Lewis Carroll's classic book, Alice in Wonderland tells the story of Alice, a young, curious girl who follows a white rabbit down a rabbit hole and into Wonderland. There, she encounters some of the strangest and most peculiar creatures, including the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter. Alice discovers who she is by engaging with the sometimes crazy people and wild situations that life can bring. This comedic adventure led by The Mechanicals Acting Troupe from MacGuffin Theatre and Film Company is appropriate for all ages. The Troup is directed by Liz Fredette and supported by MacGuffin Theatre and Film Company a 24-year-old non-profit theatre program in Philadelphia led by Artistic Director, John Rea. The organization hosts theatre classes in drama, musical theatre, comedy, and film, as well as a variety of summer camps and free productions to grow young actors.

Saint Luke enthusiastically gets behind this goal of supporting young people. Pastor Matt Staniz, lead pastor of Saint Luke, shared this value saying, “Saint Luke also believes that young people are invaluable members of our community and we celebrate the work and talent that the Mechanicals Acting Troupe has given to this performance of Alice in Wonderland.” John Rea, artistic director of MacGuffin Theatre and Film company, who also serves as the Worship Director at Saint Luke, went on to explain, “The Mechanicals are a select group of highly trained actors. They will tickle your funny bone, touch your heart, and inspire you to see the world in a different way!”
