Woman Charged After Leading Chase Into Easttown Area: Report

A 30-year-old Malvern woman is charged with felony aggravated assault, resisting arrest, recklessly endangering another person, and more.

EASTTOWN, PA — A Chester County woman is facing numerous charges after leading police on a chase in early March, according to court records and a news report.

Vanessa Chinelo Ugochukwu, 30, of Malvern, has been charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault, four counts of recklessly endangering another person, two counts of resisting arrest, DUI, and reckless driving, according to court documents.

The charges stem from a March 2 incident that began in East Whiteland and ended in Easttown.

According to Main Line Media News, Ugochukwu failed to stop for police and led officers on a 17-minute chase that eventually ended when Pennsylvania State Police, Tredyffrin Police, and Easttown Police boxed her vehicle in.

While she was being taken into custody, Ugochukwu tried to grab one of the Tredyffrin officers' tasers, the outlet reports.

Ugochukwu was freed after posting $50,000 bail on March 23, court records show.

She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 22, according to court documents.
