EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA —Musikfest, the annual music festival in Bethlehem, has just kicked off and goes full-throttle through Aug. 11.

Meanwhile, festivals are paying tribute to peaches and sweet corn this weekend at events in the Philadelphia region.

Musikfest Kicks Off On High Note In Lehigh Valley

Since 1984, Musikfest has drawn thousands to the Lehigh Valley for a festival celebrating German roots. It begins on the first Friday in August in Bethlehem and ends the second Sunday thereafter. Come for the food and the booths and the drink. And of course the music. ZZ Top tops the bill of acts coming to Steel Stage. Click here for more information.

Sweet Summer Slice At Peddler's Village Peach Festival

Peachers are plenty as Peddler's Village in Lahaska celebrates summer with its popular Peach Festival on Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The annual festival —a crowd favorite at the outdoor shopping and dining destination —will feature a variety of peach-themed treats, including pies and fritters, fresh local peaches, live entertainment, activities, summer sidewalk sales, and more. Sweet Corn Honored At Charlann Farms Festival

Charlann Farms in Lower Makefield Township is holding its second annual Sweet Corn Festival on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. "We love our sweet corn and really feel this sweet and crunchy symbol of summer deserves to be celebrated," the farm said. The festival will feature corn-themed games/activities. A ticket will be required, but once inside, there will be live musical entertainment by The Backbeat (Saturday) & Local Honey Band of New Jersey (Sunday), a huge Jump Pad, barrel cart rides, and a definite favorite among the kids: the Corn Pit. There are also food and beverage vendors and people can also eat sweet corn.

Chinese Lantern Festival Glowing In Philadelphia

The park’s regular attractions remain open alongside the installations, so feel free to hop on the Parx Liberty Carousel, play a round of mini-golf (both at discounted rates), or catch a fountain show before you go. Sesame Place Celebrates 44 Years Of Furry Fun

Sesame Place Philadelphia is celebrating "44 Years of Furry Fun" with a Birthday Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular. The Middletown Township Amusement Park invites guests to celebrate its 44th birthday this weekend with a "C is for Celebrate" fireworks show on Saturday only. Among the attractions are Sesame Place’s Birthday Bash Dine, Birthday Character Meet & Greets, Furry Friends Birthday Bash Dance Party, and an Elmo’s Party Balloon Scavenger Hunt.
