MORRISVILLE, PA —The Morrisville Borough Police Department has provided new details about six dogs abandoned at a dog park over the weekend.

Halas has drafted a letter detailing the incident and emphasizing the importance of locating the original owner to assist the other animals involved," police said in a Facebook post on Monday.

An anonymous letter was pinned on a sign saying that the owner rescued the dogs from someone who could not provide adequate care. The rescuer, though, couldn't keep the dogs due to apartment rules and thought the dog park at Philadelphia and Delmorr avenues was the best option, police said.

Police are investigating the incident and seek the poster of the letter. Police said they are also concerned about the safety of any remaining animals the original owner has.

"Although the Morrisville Police Department does not condone the abandonment of any animals, there is a larger issue in this case that we would like to isolate and make sure these animals are all safe," police said.

Anyone who would like to adopt the remaining dogs should contact the Bucks County SPCA at 215-794-7425 today.

Anyone with information about the original owner of these animals should contact Cpl. Halas at [email protected] or 215-295-8112. You can also submit a tip on Morrisville CrimeWatch.
