BRISTOL, RI — A Bristol man won $1 million on a Mega Millions ticket he bought in February, Rhode Island Lottery officials said Wednesday.

Lottery officials said the prize from the Feb. 2 drawing had gone unclaimed for months. The man noticed the prize was unclaimed and checked his ticket, since he knew the winning ticket came from the Stop & Shop on Metacom Avenue in Bristol.

Thankfully, he still had the ticket and now plans to use the money towards his retirement, lottery officials said.
