North Kingstown Police Warn Of Scammers Posing As Town Clerk

Police say legitimate emails from town officials will only come from addresses that end with "@northkingstownri.gov."

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown police issued a warning that scammers are posing as the town clerk to steal from residents.

"We've been made aware that several spoof invoices have been emailed to residents, appearing to be from the town clerk," North Kingstown police said in a Facebook post. "If you receive an invoice via email, please double-check the sender's email address."

Police said legitimate emails from town officials will only come from addresses that end with "@northkingstownri.gov."
