FBI Works To Crack Recent Flurry Of Nashville Bank Robberies

The FBI says there were five bank robberies in Nashville in a six-day period.

NASHVILLE, TN -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Nashville office is investigating an unusual rash of bank robberies.

There were five in Nashville in the six days between July 19 and July 24. All were "note jobs," Assistant Special Agent In Charge Matt Espenshade told WKRN, where the thief hands a demand note to a teller.

The FBI has identified one suspect - 49-year-old James Fox - who investigators say robbed the Church Street Fifth Third branch Tuesday. Fox is a convicted bank robber.
