Make Your Home An 'Animal House' With Fee-Free Adoption From MACC

Metro Animal Care and Control is celebrating the 40th anniversary of "Animal House" with fee-free adoptions through July 29.

NASHVILLE, TN -- Fat, drunk and petless is no way to go through life, as Dean Wormer sort of told Flounder in the 1978 classic "Animal House."

With the shelter full and the 40th anniversary of the premiere of the aforementioned college-life epic, Metro Animal Care and Control is waiving adoption fees for all animals from July 25 to 29.

"Food fights are not allowed, and togas are not required to take advantage of the adoption special…but you can wear one if you want," MACC said in a release. "We know Flounder, Otter, Bluto and even Dean Wormer would have a special place in their hearts for adopting a shelter pet, especially since the adoption floor at the shelter is at capacity."

Regular adoption fees are as much as $90. All adopted pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and have their initial vaccinations.

MACC is open every day for adoption from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with special evening hours on Thursday until 6 p.m. MACC is located at 5125 Harding Place.
