West Nashville Carjacker Wrecks Ride, Hides In Trash: Police

A West Nashville carjacking bid ended with a fiery crash followed by the alleged perpetrator hiding in a trash can, police say.

NASHVILLE, TN -- A westside carjacking bid came to a fiery and stink end Wednesday morning, according to police.

Metro Police began chasing a vehicle following a Charlotte Pike carjacking. The chase eventually made its way to the winding, undulating roads of Hillwood where the suspect crashed near Red Oak Drive, causing the allegedly stolen car to burst into flames.

Aerial and ground patrols tracked the suspect to nearby Wilsonia, where he was allegedly found hiding in a trash can.
