4 Students In Loudoun County Win Dunkin’ Regional Scholarships

Students in Loudoun County received scholarships from Dunkin' and regional franchisees in recognition of their academic success.

ASHBURN, VA — Four students in Loudoun County are among the winners of the 2024 Dunkin’ Regional Scholarships.

Dunkin' and its DC area franchisees awarded $125,000 in academic scholarships to 50 high school and college students throughout the DC region. The $2,500 scholarships go toward part-time or full-time undergraduate degree at a higher education institution in fall 2024.

"The Dunkin' Regional Scholarship is part of our ongoing commitment to empowering young adults and giving them an opportunity to achieve their goals in life," said Jamie Struwe, field marketing manager for Dunkin'. "We are proud to continue the tradition of furthering students’ educational goals in our community and help lead them to a bright future."

The Loudoun County scholarship recipients were Saoirse O’Hair of Ashburn, Jainil Modi of Chantilly, Lima Naimi of Purcellville and Prisha Singh of South Riding.

O’Hair attended Stone Bridge High School and is heading to College of William and Mary in the class of 2028. She served as a Girl Scout Congressional Aide, was president of the choir, captain of the Quiz Bowl team and the president of the Global Ambassadors and the French National Honor Society. O'Hair participated in the VMEA Senior Honors Choir and received recognition as a National Merit Scholar Commended Student. She earned the Outstanding Delegate Award at the Loudoun International Youth Leadership Summit.

Modi, who attended Freedom High School, is headed to University of California-Los Angeles in the class of 2028. He completed a research internship at Virginia Tech and was accepted into the Virginia Governor's School: Mathematics, Science, and Technology at the University of Lynchburg. Modi was involved in the Explainers Program at the National Air and Space Museum and participated in an International Research Program with South Korea, Model United Nations, Future Business Leaders of America, and Science Olympiad. Modi was awarded Best Research Project in Materials Science, the Outstanding Student Award, and Excellence in Education and earned a Volunteer Service Letter. Along with academic pursuits, Modi is interested in Bollywood dance and soccer.

Naimi, who attended Loudoun Valley High School, is headed to the University of Virginia in the class of 2028. She was co-valedictorian as well as an exchange student at Ady Endre High School in Debrecen, Hungary. Manimi has expressed an interest in motorsport and the emerging technologies that are revolutionizing racing and will complete a summer internship at cybersecurity company Core4ce. She received three other scholarships.

Singh, who attended Freedom High School, is part of the George Washington University class of 2027. She is Communication Chair for the GW Film Production Club and a member of Delta Iota Gamma, the GW NPPA, and DC Through a Lens. She made the GW Dean's List in fall 2023 and is a GW Presidential Academic Scholarship recipient. Singh was an American Legion Auxiliary Virginia Girls State Delegate, where she was Speaker of the House.

Scholarship recipients will be honored at a recognition ceremony at Nationals Park Thursday.
