Ashburn Man Caused $20K In Damage At Local Businesses: Police

ASHBURN, VA — An Ashburn man caused $20,000 in damages when he destroyed doors, menu boards, and other items at area businesses on Monday and Tuesday, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. The incidents happened at Loudoun Sheetz, McDonald's, and Chick-Fil-A locations.

No injuries were reported in the incidents.

Investigators identified the man as 25-year-old Reyan Ibrahim. He is charged with three counts of felony destruction of property. Ibrahim is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. His next court dates are scheduled for Dec. 20 and Jan. 4.

If convicted, Ibrahim could spend up to 15 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

The first incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Monday at the McDonald's in the Ashburn Shopping Plaza, authorities said. An employee told investigators that a man had destroyed the electronic menu ordering board in the drive thru.

At 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies were called to the Sheetz on Windmill Parc Drive in Sterling. A Sheetz employee said a man broke a wine bottle before using a wrench to shatter the store's glass front doors.

Just before 8 a.m., the man struck again, the police report said. A man had broken two glass doors at the Chick-Fil-A in Sterling's Community Plaza.

Deputies later identified Ibrahim as a suspect and took him into custody. Investigators have not announced a possible motive for the incidents.
