Ashburn Road Repaving Work To Happen Over A Week

Overnight repaving work will affect a portion of Ashburn Road, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

ASHBURN, VA — Overnight repaving work will impact Ashburn over the next week, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The milling and paving will happen on Ashburn Road between Gloucester Parkway and Ashburn Farm Parkway/Farmwell Road. Work is being done overnight to avoid the impact of daytime lane closures. Sections of Ashburn Road may not be accessible during active road work times, according to VDOT.

The current schedule, which is weather dependent, is:

  • 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 to 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, milling both lanes from Gloucester Parkway to Hay Road
  • 10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, milling southbound lane from Partlow Road to Ashburn Farm Parkway/Farmwell Road
  • 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 to 4 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, milling northbound lane from Ashburn Farm Parkway/Farmwell Road to Partlow Road, paving both lanes from Gloucester Parkway to Hay Road
  • 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 to 4 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, paving southbound lane from Partlow Road to Ashburn Farm Parkway/Farmwell Road
  • 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 to 4 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, paving northbound lane from Ashburn Farm Parkway/Farmwell Road to Partlow Road

Drivers are asked to follow road signs and work crew direction.

The road work on Ashburn Road is part of VDOT's annual repaving program, which resurfaces and repaves a limited number of roads throughout Virginia each year. Roads are typically prioritized for the program based on VDOT's annual pavement condition ratings.
