Summer Campers at Chesterbrook Academy® Preschool in Aldie Donate More Than $500 to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Summer campers at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Aldie recently donated more than $500 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), a nonprofit working to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. To raise money for the organization, students created art that was included in the school’s fundraising raffle. The school also had a spirit week to get campers excited about their fundraising efforts. Later this year, students and their families will also participate in the Light The Night walk to help raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond, working with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
