LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A former corrections officer in Loudoun County was arrested Monday after investigators said she inappropriately touched an inmate and delivered a contraband vaping device to him.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office identified the woman as 43-year-old Yesenia Jusino Ramos. She is charged with sexual battery and delivering an article to a prisoner.

Jusino Ramos's court date is scheduled for Dec. 12. If convicted of all charges, she could face up to 2 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

The sheriff's office said it conducted a "comprehensive" investigation alongside the office of the commonwealth's attorney. The investigation found that Jusino Ramos inappropriately touched an inmate during a search. Later, she gave the inmate a vaping device, authorities said.

Both incidents occurred between Aug. 8 and Aug. 13 this year, according to the police report.

The sheriff's office has not publicly identified the inmate who was victimized. However, the police report noted that he is no longer incarcerated at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Jusino Ramos was hired by the sheriff's office in January 2022 and placed on administrative leave when the allegations came to light. The sheriff's office fired her on Sept. 20.
