Pig Races, Rides, Rodeo: Fun Awaits At Loudoun County Fair Over 5 Days

Whether you enjoy carnival rides or farm demonstrations and awards, the upcoming Loudoun County Fair will offer entertainment for all.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Families will flock to the fairgrounds for pig races, the Blue Ribbon Showcase, a pie-eating contest, rabbit parade and more at the annual Loudoun County Fair.

The five-day fair kicks off Tuesday, running from Tuesday, July 23 through Saturday, July 27 at the Loudoun County Fairgrounds, 17558 Dry Mill Road, Leesburg, VA. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. There is a cost for admission and parking.

Attendees can expect various forms of entertainment — a carnival with rides and games, live performances, a petting zoo, Chaos in the Valley Demolition Derby, Power Wheels Derby, Pig Scramble, the True Grit Rodeo and more. The carnival will open at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 11 a.m. on Wednesday (closed from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.), 5 p.m. on Thursday, 4 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.

There is also the agricultural side of the fair to enjoy. In between food and rides, the public can witness competitions or demonstrations like the All American Pig Races, Horse Showmanship, Milking Demonstrations, Sheep and Goat Obstacle Course. Another county fair highlight is the Blue Ribbon Showcase display of winners. Residents were invited to submit entries for the best of the community in various categories. A few examples of the categories for blue ribbon prizes are baked goods, flowers, gardening, clothing, photography, crafts and fine arts. Blue Ribbon Showcase hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Tickets are required for any attendee, except children 5 and under. The price of a one-day ticket is $15 for ages 13 and up and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Weekly passes for admission on all five days are $40 for ages 13 and up and $15 for children ages 6 to 12. On Wednesday, children 12 and under and older adults 62 and older can get free admission until 4 p.m. Parking costs $5 (online or cash in person) and is good for all five days.

Rides and games in the carnival area will have an additional cost. Unlimited ride wristbands may be purchased in advance online.
