National Night Out Returns In 2024 With Events In Loudoun County

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County residents will be encouraged to turn on their porch lights and spend time outdoors with neighbors during the returning National Night Out.

The National Night Out event, which seeks to stand up to crime, promote safe neighborhoods and boost relationships between law enforcement and the community, will happen on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

First responders, including the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, will join various events around the county:

• Ashburn Village: 44078 Cheltenham Cir., Ashburn, VA, 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m.
• Broadlands - Southern Walk Pool: 43081 Village Dr., Ashburn, VA, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
• Lansdowne on Potomac HOA: 43459 Riverpoint Dr., Lansdowne, VA, 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
• One Loudoun: Residential Pavilion at Russell Branch, Ashburn, VA, 6 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
• Loudoun Valley I: 43636 Lucketts Bridge Cir, Ashburn, VA, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
• Loudoun Valley II: 43100 Barnstead Dr., Ashburn, VA, 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

• Town of Purcellville: Purcellville, VA, Giant Food free family picnic and vehicle lineup 5:30 p.m., free outdoor games and activities at Purcellville Library 7 p.m., free ice cream social at Loudoun Valley Community Center 8 p.m.
• Town of Round Hill: Baptist Church, 7 W. Loudoun St., Round Hill, VA, 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m.

This is the 41st year of National Night Out, which is typically held on the first Tuesday of August. First started in 1984 in about 400 communities, National Night Out now draws an estimated 17,000 communities with millions of neighbors. Events may take the form of block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other neighborhood-based events, according to National Night Out's website.
