STERLING, VA — A man was stabbed during a robbery in Sterling on Tuesday evening, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. Authorities are still looking for a suspect.

The victim, who authorities only described as an adult male, received treatment at an area hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, according to a report from the sheriff's office.

Investigators described the suspect as a Black man in his 20s who is 6 feet tall with a thin build and dreadlocks. He was wearing a black jacket and drove a grey sedan.

The stabbing occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the 24600 block of Pantzlaff Farm Terrace. Deputies responded to the scene for a robbery. They learned that the suspect stabbed the victim and took his cell phone before leaving the area.

The sheriff's office believes this was not a random act. Officials noted that the incident is still under investigation and they are working with early indications.
