Interested in a good bagel ?

Located inside La Tattoria on 305 S. Washington Street sits Genuine Water Bagels (GWB); this pop-up offers hand rolled and NY style bagels. GWB is open on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8AM - 11:30AM (or until they run out) . At this time they offer three varieties of bagels; plain, salt and everything.

I have been three times and every time I was able to time it perfect! They were hot and right out of the oven. Since they are baking them in an Italian restaurant and it is not a bagel oven, the batches are smaller. Get there early otherwise you might have to wait a few minutes. I absolutely enjoy a good bagel and these are definitely one of the best I have had in the DMV. Crisp, crusty and is toasty golden brown outside and a good chew on the inside; just the way a bagel should look, feel and taste.

While their menu is small, they do offer cream cheese, butter, lox and some drinks. Hopefully over the next few months they will expand their business into a full Jewish style deli. Old Town could use a deli with homemade matzoh ball soup, really good cold cuts and YES I want some kugel.
