Small Business Saturday 2023: See Special Events Around Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA — As factors like inflation hit small businesses harder, Small Business Saturday is a timely reminder to support small businesses that keep more local dollars in the community.

Small businesses are plentiful in Alexandria, so the city makes Small Business Saturday a big occasion. Saturday, Nov. 25 will feature deals and specials from nearly 50 shops in Old Town Alexandria. Shoppers will get discounts, free gift with a purchase, in-store treats and more. Store hours will range from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

There will also be several pop-up markets. Holiday Inn Alexandria-Carlyle (2460 Eisenhower Avenue) will host a pop-up shop on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the ballroom. Businesses will offer products like clothing, handbags, jewelry, makeup, arts and crafts, health and wellness and more. The hotel selected a variety of vendors and allowed them to participate without a registration fee. The goal of the event is to support businesses without a physical storefront.

Another pop-up event will be the Made in ALX Holiday Makers' Market at Port City Brewing Co. (3950 Wheeler Avenue) from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25. There will be over 30 artists, creators and makers from Alexandria and surrounding areas participating. Items like jewelry, candles, gifts and crafts will be sold. Guests can try Port City's craft beers, watch a performance by the Alexandria City High School Choir, enjoy food trucks, and be entered for a $100 Made in ALX gift card while shopping. The event is kid-friendly and pet-friendly.
