VIRGINIA — A blanket of snow is covering much of Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley region on Wednesday in the first winter storm of the season. We asked to see your photos, and you answered.

Places like western Loudoun and areas east of the Blue Ridge Mountains could see a total of 6 to 12 inches of snow and sleet, while eastern Loudoun could get 3 to 6 inches. West of the Interstate 81 corridor, snowfall accumulations could be between 12 to 18 inches. As for areas like Fairfax County, Prince William County, Alexandria, Arlington and Falls Church, accumulation could closer to 1 to 2 inches of snow and sleet.

To visualize the different impacts of the winter storm, we asked our Virginia readers for photos. Below are some of our favorite submissions. You can still send your photos and location to [email protected]. Please only submit photos you took and give Patch permission to publish.
