Dog With Broken Leg Left In Lake Ridge, Information Sought By Police

Prince William County Police are investigating after a dog was found with a broken leg near a guardrail.

LAKE RIDGE, VA — An abandoned dog with a broken leg found in Lake Ridge Sunday has led to a Prince William County Police investigation.

Officers had responded to the animal cruelty report around 4:27 p.m. Sunday at Oakwood Drive and Armada Place in Lake Ridge. Police believe an unknown woman left the dog near a guardrail around 4 p.m. A bystander found the dog with a broken leg a short time later and contacted police.

The dog is a 1 to 2-year-old brown chihuahua mix. The dog was taken to the animal services center for treatment. Animal control officers are seeking information to identify the dog and what led to the abandonment.
