Israeli Flag Taken Multiple Time From Woodbridge Home: Police

An American flag and Israeli flag were taken from a home where a similar vandalism occurred before, police say.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — An Israeli flag was stolen for a second time from a Woodbridge home, according to Prince William County Police.

Police believe the latest vandalism happened around 5 a.m. on April 13 in the 1600 block of Mount High St in Woodbridge just outside Occoquan. According to police, the homeowner's American flag and Israeli flag were taken. The flags were found torn and poles broken in half nearby.

Surveillance footage showed an unknown person walking up to the home around the time reported to police.

Police say an Israeli flag was taken from the same home in December 2023.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man of an unknown age around 5 foot 10 to 5 foot 11 and 80 pounds with an athletic build. He was last seen wearing a medical-style dark-colored mask, dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored gloves with white stripes, dark-colored pants, and black and white Adidas shoes.

Dan Oxenburg, the homeowner, told NBC Washington the flag was in support of an Israeli friend and others.

"Look, if I had a Palestinian flag up there and somebody ripped it down, I’d be having the same conversation, because nobody’s going to shut me down just because they don’t like what I put up," Osenburg told NBC Washington.
