Quadruple Shooting In Triangle: Teen Charged, 1 Killed, 3 Injured

TRIANGLE, VA — A teen has been charged in a quadruple shooting Monday in Triangle that was classified as a homicide after a teen. Three other victims were injured, according to Prince William County Police.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Masthead Trail. Police believe a group of boys and men were in a grassy area behind homes when multiple shots were fired. The group dispersed when police from Prince William County and Town of Dumfries arrived.

Officers found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital. A 15-year-old boy died from his injuries at the hospital. The second victim, an adult man, is expected to survive. The juvenile victim was not identified publicly due to his age.

As police were searching the area, they found another teen victim with a graze wound. He was treated at the hospital and is expected to survive.

Police later learned a fourth victim, an adult man, was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and is expected to survive.

The injured victims were identified as a 16-year-old male juvenile, an 18-year-old man, and a 20-year-old man of Triangle.

On Wednesday, police said they identified and arrested a 17-year-old boy. He is charged with one count of murder, three counts of aggravated malicious wounding, one count of attempted aggravated malicious wounding, and one count of using a firearm in commission of a felony. He is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center. Detectives are seeking to identify other involved people.

Detectives believe the suspect fired shots toward five men and boys. The suspect and victims are acquainted, and the shooting is believed to be tied to a previous altercation and ongoing dispute.

The shooting was not believed to be random, according to police. Detectives are actively investigating and pursuing leads. No property damage was reported from the shooting.
