Woman's Car Struck By Gunfire At Woodbridge Intersection: Police

The woman was not injured when a gunfire exchange hit her vehicle while stopped at an intersection, police say.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A woman's vehicle was caught in a gunfire exchange while stopped at an intersection in Woodbridge Saturday, Prince William County Police say.

Officers responded around 8:51 p.m. Saturday to Powells Creek Boulevard and River Ridge Boulevard in Woodbridge for a report of gunshots. Police say a 43-year-old woman was stopped at the intersection for a group to cross the street when a Honda quickly pulled around her. The Honda stopped at the intersection and exchanged gunfire with the group on foot.

The woman's car was struck before she could drive away. No injuries or additional property damage was reported.

Police found shell casings in the roadway. The incident is not believed to be random.

There were no suspect descriptions, but police said the group crossing the street were males.

Armed Robbery: On April 12 at 5:43PM, officers responded to the Tobacco King and Vape located at 1330 Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed two men approached the service counter and one of the men grabbed items from an employee while the other suspect destroyed merchandise. Both men fled to the parking lot where they were joined by a third suspect and when an employee attempted to follow them, one of the suspects brandished a firearm. No injuries were reported. Vape products were reported missing. The suspects, possibly juveniles, were described as a black male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, a black male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, and a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and all were wearing face masks.

Attempted Residential Burglary: On April 12 at 6:42PM, officers responded to the Stonebridge Terrace Apartments located in the 14700 block of River Walk Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed the occupant of an apartment heard loud noises at the door and upon checking the surveillance footage, they observed a masked individual, later identified as the accused, kicked the front door several times before fleeing the apartment building. Responding officers located the accused nearby where he was detained without incident. No entry was made into the apartment. Following the investigation, officers sought petitions against the accused, identified as a 15-year-old male juvenile. After consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in formal action and will be handled through the court process at a later date.
