WAUWATOSA, WI — Wauwatosa police arrested a man who crashed his car after fleeing officers on Wednesday and responded to several other calls from April 8 to Thursday, the latest round of police logs showed.

Man Hits Utility Pole, Arrested After Chase

Police arrested a man on Wednesday after he crashed into a utility pole after he sped away from a traffic stop on the 10700 block on W. Keeve Avenue on Wednesday, police said. Jarreek Washington, 21, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and trying to elude an officer, court records showed.

A Wauwatosa man told police that someone entered his locked car and took less than five dollars in change on April 8, police logs showed. Police didn't find any signs of forced entry and no evidence was left behind.

Another Wauwatosa man told police that the catalytic converter in his car was stolen on April 8, police logs showed. The theft happened outside of an auto repair shop on the 8100 block of W. North Avenue.

Woman Bit By Dog, Police Chase Stolen Kia

A Wauwatosa woman told police she was bit by an Akita dog, named "Samson" on April 8, police logs showed. It's not clear what happened to Samson or Samson's owner.

A driver in a 2013 Kia Optima eluded police on April 9 on the 4500 block of N. 100th Street after officers saw it driving recklessly, police said. The car was reported stolen by the Milwaukee Police Department and hasn't been found yet.

Someone tried to steal a different Wauwatosa woman's 2022 Kia Forte outside of the Meijer on 11111 W. Burleigh St. on April 9, police said. The person left in a 2021 Kia Sportage, which was an unreported stolen vehicle.

Another man told police that a group of people broke the rear passenger window of his car and stole a gym bag with a pair of Nike Basketball shoes inside on April 9 outside of Mayfair Mall, police logs showed. Security looked at video from parking surveillance cameras, but the cameras weren't facing the man's car during the theft.

A different man reported that the catalyic converter was stolen from his car on April 11, police said. The man's car was parked in one of the parking structures at Froedtert Hospital.

A Wauwatosa woman told police her 2007 Infiniti G35 was stolen from a car wash on the 7200 block of W. North Avenue on Wednesday, police logs showed.
