Thursday Accident Causes I-41/I-894 Shutdown

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A serious crash has forced the closure of a busy stretch of interstate in Milwaukee County Thursday afternoon.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation the southbound lanes of I-41/I-894 have been closed due to a crash in the West Allis area.

Transportation officials are urging motorists to find alternate routes around the crash scene.

Backups extend north to about W. Wisconsin Ave. along I-41, and east of Wisconsin State Fair Park on I-94, according to 511 Wisconsin.
