      Explanation

      The present perfect progressive shows that an action or event started in the past and is continuing in the present. This form is also called 'present perfect continuous.'

      subject + 'has/have' + 'been' + present participle of verb ('-ing')

      Example

      I have been waiting for 2 hours, and she still isn't here.
      She is really tired; she has been working all night.
      Have you been sleeping all day?
      I think he has been watching TV since I left the house.

      Common mistakes

      The present perfect continuous uses the present perfect of 'be' and the present participle of the verb.

      I've wait for 2 hours, and she still isn't here.
