About Print Club

Print Club London is a screenprinting studio and contemporary online gallery based in Hackney, East London. Working closely with the community of artists in the studio, the gallery showcases a diverse range of limited edition screenprints and original artworks.

Famed for the annual ‘Blisters’ screenprinted poster show, the Print Club London gallery is renowned for representing emerging artists at the very beginning of their career alongside established names on the same platform. With artwork prices starting at just £25, central to the values of Print Club London is to make original and limited edition artwork accessible to a wide audience.

The screenprinting studio is the workplace of over 60 artists, always bustling with creative energy. As well as providing facilities and support to members, Print Club London teaches weekly screenprinting workshops to members of the public. From courses for complete beginners to advanced specialist techniques, the studio is dedicated to nurturing the craft of screenprinting via expert tutoring. The studio also runs a celebrated residency programme for artists new to the process.

As well as in-house workshops, the studio works with clients on live events and pop-up demonstrations all over the country. Previous clients include Soho House, Prada, Selfridges, Google, Dr. Martens, Haig Club, and Goodwood Festival amongst many more.

Established in 2007, Print Club London is run by Managing Directors Fred Higginson and Kate Higginson. The duo work closely alongside Creative Director and artist Rose Stallard, who brings the brand to life with her inimitable 1970s fanzine-style artwork and iconic typography.

Our Eco Manifesto 2023

As a business, we are always striving to be earth friendly as possible. We are conscious of treating our environment with respect and care so that we can pass it on to the next generation. With this in mind, we have a low-waste approach in our studios. Our studio is completely solvent free and all of our products are water-based. All our inks are free of microplastic, and our very own Print Club Inks are produced using natural sustainable ingredients which can be replanted and regrown. The electricity around our studios and offices is 80% carbon neutral.

Mindful Purchasing

In our gallery, we do not believe in fast throwaway consumer culture. Instead we produce and represent only handmade limited edition or original artworks which are designed to last a lifetime. We hope the artworks bought from our gallery will become future heirlooms that are passed through the generations.

Made in England

With a commitment to UK production, Print Club takes pride in printing artwork in our East London studios. Supporting artists while also creating local employment is hugely important to Print Club and allows us to meticulously monitor the quality of our products. Working with some of the UK’s best illustrators and artists we pride ourselves in offering high quality prints at an affordable price. The paper we source for our studios is also made in the UK.

Recyclable Packaging

All our packaging for our unframed prints is completely recyclable. Where we need to use bubble wrap for our framed artworks, ours is on its second life and made from recycled materials. Our boxes are printed with water-based inks which allows the boxes to be recycled. Even our stickers and paper packing tape can be recycled. We actively encourage our buyers to reuse the packaging.

Charity Contributions

Our directors Fred and Kate pride themselves in ensuring we work with a social conscience and try to help where we can. At Print Club we care deeply about both the surrounding local community and the natural world. Our support of charities continues and is a core part of our ethos – to support others where we can. We are proud to have worked with charities such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, Mind, Inside Out, Circle Collective, Outrunners, and Macmillian. For those running smaller local charities we offer free use of our studios and printing support on projects to assist them.

Print Club London X Choose Love

We work with Choose Love as an ongoing collaboration, supporting their relief work around the world. Born out of an idea from director Kate Higginson, and with the permission of designer Katharine Hamnett to use her iconic slogan, Print Club London are proud to have been working with the wonderful Choose Love charity for over 5 years.

Since 2018 Print Club London have been working with some of the UK’s best contemporary designers and artists to curate artworks for the charity. The project launched with an exhibition at Somerset House on World Refugee Day in 2018 and the collection has grown since, travelling to Pikes Ibiza, a second show at Somerset House, producing sell out prints for Choose Love pop up stores, and multiple auctions and exhibitions.

Artists to date who have worked on the project include Marc Quinn, Rankin, Quentin Jones, Morag Mysercough, Noel Fielding and Anish Kapoor.

From limited edition screenprints to completely one-off original artworks, the collection features world-renowned artists as well as emerging printmakers from the Print Club London studios. 100% of the proceeds from the sales of these artworks goes directly to Choose Love and supports the incredible work they do.

To date Print Club London has raised over £200,000 for charity.

Valuing Diversity

Print Club London is committed to valuing diversity and our studios are open access to all. We offer weekly courses to share our expertise to complete beginners and beyond, to encourage all into the world of screenprinting. We are currently working on increasing our teaching offering, to include a wider range of services and accessible price ranges.

We are proud to be a multicultural and diverse studio. We believe that people from different backgrounds can bring fresh ideas, thinking and approaches which make the way work is undertaken more effective and efficient.

Print Club London are proud members of FESPA UK Association.
