Synopsis: Solicits applications to enroll large, digitally-maintained cohorts of people with HIV-1 in the United States who are not adequately virally suppressed.

NIDCD Research Opportunities for New Investigators to Promote Workforce Diversity (R01 Clinical Trial Optional). Deadline: 8/5/22. Synopsis: This program is intended to support Early Stage and New Investigators from diverse backgrounds.

Behavioral & Integrative Treatment Development Program (R01 Clinical Trial Optional); Behavioral & Integrative Treatment Development Program (R34 Clinical Trial Optional). NIDA. Deadline: 8/10/22. Synopsis: Supports development and testing of behavioral and integrative treatments for drug and alcohol use, abuse, and dependence.

NICHD Program Project Grants for HIV Research (P01 Clinical Trial Optional). Deadline: 8/10/22. Synopsis: Supports integrated, multi-project research programs that address HIV scientific areas.

Mental Health Research Dissertation Grant to Enhance Workforce Diversity (R36 Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed), NIMH. Deadline: 8/10/22, 9/7/22 for AIDS. Synopsis: The purpose is to enhance the diversity of the mental health research workforce.

Coordinating Center for the HIV/AIDS and Substance Use Cohorts Program (U24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed). NIDA. Deadline: 8/10/22. Synopsis: The CC will coordinate research efforts across NIDA-funded longitudinal cohorts that address emerging and high-priority research on HIV/AIDS in the context of SUD.

Pathogenic Mechanisms Influencing Blood Brain Barrier Function in HIV and Substance Use Disorders (R01 Clinical Trial Optional). NIDA. Deadline: 8/11/22. Synopsis: Supports research on the effects of HIV and addictive substances on blood brain barrier.

NIH Director’s New Innovator Award Program (DP2 Clinical Trial Optional). Deadline: 8/19/22. Synopsis: Supports early stage investigators who propose highly innovative research projects with the potential to produce a major impact.

Fogarty HIV Research Training Program for Low-and Middle-Income Country Institutions (D43 Clinical Trial Optional). NIH. Deadline: 8/22/22. Synopsis: Supports training programs to strengthen the scientific capacity of institutions in LMICs to conduct HIV research.

Planning Grant for Fogarty HIV Research Training Program for Low- and Middle-Income Country Institutions (D71 Clinical Trial Not Allowed). NIH. Deadline: 8/22/22. Synopsis: Supports research training that strengthens HIV research capacity of institutions in LMICs.

Infrastructure Development Training Programs for Critical HIV Research at Low-and Middle-Income Country Institutions (G11 Clinical Trials Not Allowed). NIH. Deadline: 8/22/22. Synopsis: The overall goal is to strengthen the scientific capacity of institutions in LMICs.

Research Coordinating Center to Support Climate Change and Health Community of Practice (U24 – Clinical Trial Not Allowed). NIH. Deadline: 8/25/22. Synopsis: The CCH Initiative has goals of reducing the health threats posed by climate change across the lifespan.

NIH Director’s Transformative Research Awards (R01 Clinical Trial Optional). Deadline: 9/1/22. Synopsis: Supports groundbreaking, exceptionally innovative, original, and/or unconventional research that must demonstrate compelling potential to produce a major impact in a broad area of relevance to the NIH.


National Aeronautics and Space Administration

ROSES 2022: Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences. Deadline: Varies, through 5/12/23. Synopsis: ROSES is an omnibus NRA with many individual program elements, each with its own due dates and topics, in a wide range of basic and applied research and technology in space and Earth sciences supported by the Science Mission Directorate.


National Science Foundation

Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST). Deadline: 8/12/22. Synopsis: The objective is to support all students’ acquisition of the foundational preparation in STEM disciplines.


University of California

Western Integrated Pest Management Center Request for Applications - Ongoing Special Issues. UC Davis. Deadline: Open. Synopsis: The Western IPM Center announces the availability of funds and requests proposals to address special issues in the West – specifically time-sensitive issues that cannot wait until the next regular RFA period.

Scientific Conference Award. Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program. Deadline: Open. Synopsis: Supports in-person scientific conferences that will disseminate TRDRP-funded research and convene TRDRP investigators and colleagues from different disciplines.

Mackay California-Pacific Rim Tobacco Policy Scholar Award. Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program. Deadline: Open. Synopsis: The aim is to foster scientifically informed, evidence-based tobacco control policy and practice in California and the Pacific Rim region by building leadership and cross-regional partnerships among mid-career researchers.
